BANTAMS – WEEK ENDING Feb. 3
In the only game, Ryan Maziarka handed out two assists and Ben Packard scored what turned out to be the winner with 2:49 left in the second period as Cambridge trimmed Waltham 3-1.
Ben Stavaridis scored two goals and set up another, Chris Mattaliano scored twice and Chris Bertolini had a goal and an assist in Wellesley 8-1 victory over Framingham; Bailey Valentin scored a goal and then assisted on Joe Tierney’s goal 49 seconds later in the second period as Billerica edged Acton-Boxboro 3-2; Porecha scored twice and Tong posted 1-1-2 in Winchester’s 4-1 win over Acton-Boxboro; Jack Stewart scored with 1:32 left to give Triton a 3-2 decision over Wakefield – Callan Wardwell with the other two goals in the win; J.P. Sullivan’s second goal of the game, with 7:36 left, gave Reading the go-ahead goal in a 3-1 decision over NH East; and Mitch Gordon wore the hat, Christian Kurker dished out three assists, Luke Broughel had 1-1-2 and Dylan Zukowski pitched a shutout in Newton’s 8-0 triumph over Lexington/Bedford.
There were no games in the North.
Somerville and Andover both win twice in the South. Gaskin had two assists and Lounsberry scored early in the second period as Somerville topped Woburn 3-0 – and Gaskin delivered 2-1-3, Lounsberry also scored twice and No. 2 posted 1-1-2 in a 6-3 victory over Masco; Pete McLaughlin capped Andover’s three-goal first period with a goal with 38 seconds left and Andover trimmed Maine 4-2 – and Matvey Malinovsky scored what turned out to be the winner with 5:19 left and Pete Elliott posted 1-1-2 in a 5-3 win over SMS, Trevor Jarzynka with two goals and Justin Che two assists in the loss;
Pat Cotter scored two goals and set up another, Jeremy Eaton and Dom Lamentea both had 1-1-2 and Matt Fuccione pitched a shutout as Melrose downed Cambridge 6-0; Hogan came within 30 seconds of a shutout and Jarzynka had 1-1-2 as SMS edged Twin City 2-1; and Dave MacLure scored with 2:56 left and then assisted on Ryan McNulty’s second goal of the game with 1:28 remaining to give Nashoba a 4-4 tie with North Andover – Elliot and Connelly with two goals apiece and Locke two assists for NA.
Methuen won twice in the East. Cole Lambert scored one goal and set up two others, Gabe Lozowski scored twice and Colin Grimley had two assists in a 6-3 victory over NH East, Finn Bussiere with 1-1-2 in the loss – and Chris DiMaggio scored with 12 seconds left to give Methuen a 6-5 decision over Amesbury – Lambert and Jack Allartd with two goals apiece and Lozowski two assists in the win and Brady Burnham and Gio Recupero 1-1-2 apiece in the loss;
Colm McCarthy pitched a shutout and Marcus Paes scored early as Parkway edged Framingham 1-0; Jake Kerble scored his second goal of the game with 4:07 left in the second period as Agawam tied the Railers 2-2; and Rhys Duncan scored the tying goal with 1:21 left and William Scheffel posted a goal and two assists as the Revs tied Winchester 4-4.
In the West, Ryan Flaherty scored what turned out to be the winner 42 seconds into the second period as Medford edged South Boston 2-1; Mercuri wore the hat, Coll scored twice, Stec had 1-1-2 and Conlon the shutout in Dedham’s 6-0 victory over Lynn; Cassidy clicked for 1-2-3 and Keiler and Lenkutis both had 1-1-2 as Concord-Carlisle topped Acton-Boxboro 7-2; and Declan Grady snapped a 1-1 tie early in the second period as Wakefield defeated Medford 4-1.
In North action, Andrew Skovish came within 1:13 of a shutout and David Childers had two goals and an assist in Triboro’s 3-1 victory over the Railers; Weitzman’s second goal of the game, with 3:11 left, was the winner and D’Amico posted 1-1-2 as Burlington nipped Lexington/Bedford 3-2 – Odin Choy with 1-1-2 in the loss; Hanlon scored the winner with 3:46 left, Riley had 2-1-3 and Raftery also scored twice as Dorchester edged Belmont 5-4; and Sean Higgins, who also had an assist, scored his second goal of the game with 1:29 left to give Billerica nipped the Demons 5-4 – John Allen with two goals in the win and George Gabriel a hat trick in the loss,
Masco won twice in the South. Josh Batchelder scored two goals and set up two others and Steve DiFilippo wore the hat in a 5-4 decision over Greater Lowell, Sal D’Amico with three assists and Mike Desmarais two goals in the loss – and Batchelder dished out three assists and Ryan Johnston scored twice as Masco trimmed Nashoba 3-1;
D’Amico wore the hat and handed out three assists, Desmarais scored two goals and assisted on three others and Tom Woodlock posted 1-2-3 in Lowell’s 9-6 victory over Nashoba – Aidan Brady with two goals and Adam Prato 1-1-2 in the loss; Brady Dery’s second goal of the game snapped a 3-3 tie with 4:03 left and Edge A2 topped Edge A1 5-3 – Travis Arinakopolous with two assists in the win and Will Roncone two goals and Evan Doughty two assists in the loss; Ben Tolosa scored twice, Liam Herlihy posted 1-1-2 and Jason Bouffard two assists as S&S defeated Agawam 6-3 – Parianos with two assists in the loss; Ryan Avila pitched a shutout and Quinn Fidler scored with 38 seconds left in the second period as Beverly edged Allston/Brighton 1-0; and Camden Sullivan scored twice and Cole Moore posted 1-1-2 as the Crusaders downed SMS 4-1.
Wellesley won twice in the East. Alex Teryazos and Isaac Tetel scored 1:13 apart in the second period of a 3-1 decision over Winchester – and Charlie Carpenter and Eric Hallmer scored third-period goals and Ryan Harding had three assists as Wellesley nipped Medford 3-2;
Pat Prudhomme wore the hat, Tyler Gilfoy scored twice and Tyler Bliss and Alex Taylor both had two assists as the Railers topped Woburn 5-2 – Chris Maher with assists on both goals in the loss; No. 30 scored twice and Tyler Roch had two assists in Medfield’s 3-1 victory over Winchester; Nathan Libby scored twice as Haverhill/Pentucket trimmed Tewksbury 4-2; Ryan Trainor, who also had an assist, scored with 1:14 left to give An dover a 2-2 tie with NH East; and Patrick Hall posted two goals and two assists, Mihael Ashminov clicked for 2-1-3, Jake Amoroso had 1-1-2 and Nathan Medeiros pitched a shutout in Billerica’s 7-0 win over Reading.
Concord-Carlisle had a win and a tie in the West. Teddy Mckeown had two goals and two assists, Ben Megan wore the hat, Byron Woodman had 1-2-3 and Chris Lynch 1-1-2 in a 9-1 victory over Belmont – and Nathan Pletta scored the tying goal with 2:42 left and Mckeown had 1-1-2 as C-C tied Dorchester 2-2, Jack Hanlon with both goals for Dorchester;
Tai Dennie pitched a shutout and Isaac Brendel scored twice as Brookline downed Parkway 3-0; Fraser pitched a shutout and Barrett scored with 2:52 left as Triboro edged Waltham 1-0; Trevor Shay scored twice, the first one seven seconds into the second period, as Framingham topped Twin City 3-1; Stephens posted 1-1-2 as Waltham defeated the Railers 5-2; and Jack Walmsley scored twice and Oliver Ransom pitched a shutout as Cambridge stopped Melrose 4-0.
