Eight Valley Jr. Warrior Alums Represent all 4 Beanpot Teams

The 66th Annual Beanpot Tournament took place on both Monday February 5th and the following Monday, February 12th for the Championship/Consolation games.

All eyes were on Northeastern in the Championship as they captured their first Beanpot title in 30 years, their fifth title in program history.

With 8 Valley Jr. Warrior alums playing in the Beanpot tournament this year (spanning across all four teams), 3 of those players were Huskies – Collin Murphy (defense), Austin Goldstein (forward), and Patrick Jordan (goalie).

Murphy is a Wilmington, MA native who was with the Warriors from 2009-2011 for his Peewee Minor and Peewee Major seasons. Austin Goldstein out of the Saugus area also played two seasons with the Warriors from 2011-2013 for his Bantam Major and U16 tier I seasons. Lastly, goaltender Patrick Jordan out of Waltham, MA was with the Warriors for two seasons from 2005-2007 for his Peewee Minor and Peewee Major seasons.

Other Valley Jr. Warrior alumns playing in this year’s Beanpot included Boston University forward and assistant captain Bobo Carpenter (2006-2010) and junior goaltender Max Prawdzik (2007-2014), Boston College captain Casey Fitzgerald (2009-2013) and teammate JD Dudek (2008-2010), and lastly Harvard University senior forward, Eddie Ellis (2006-2007).

Northeastern defeated Boston University 5-2 in the Championship. The Beanpot is a highly regarded tournament played between four major college hockey schools of Boston. It is symbolic of the “Best of Boston”. The Valley Jr. Warriors proudly supports all of its alumni as they continue the Tradition of Training like a Warrior and going off to bigger and better things.
