Bantam Week Ending Sept 17


Reading posted a win and two ties. Tommy Sumner scored twice and Anthony Picano had a goal and an assist in a 3-1 victory over Waltham; Nicholas Miceli scored with 5:18 left to give Natick a 2-2 tie with Reading – and No. 22 scored with 48 seconds left to give Winchester a 3-3 tie with Reading, Cole Duncan with two assists for Winchester, while Picano had a goal and two assists, Sumner two goals and Jack Donnelly two assists for Reading;


In the other game, Reid Malatesta delivered a goal and two assists and Matt Alesse had a goal and an assist as Arlington edged Wilmington 4-3.




Mike Berman scored four goals and Braeden Peterson added two assists in Framingham’s 6-4 victory over Triboro; Shane Keough scored with 7:24 left to give Marblehead a 1-0 decision over Winthrop; Albert Hereu snapped a 1-1 tie with 7:18 left in the second period as Wellesley trimmed the Railers 3-1; and David Albrechtskirkinger had two goals and an assist, Jacob Noe posted 1-1-2 and Jack Henry had two assists in Brookline’s 6-2 win over Parkway – Tom O’Brien with 1-1-2 in the loss.



Danvers won twice in the North. James Carmelia scored five goals and set up another, Luke Thibodeau scored twice, Connor Horn had a goal and an assist and Kevin Wood two assists in a 9-3 victory over Winchester – Napolitano with a goal and two assists in the loss – and Ryan Lepore scored twice in a 3-1 win over Agawam;


Hotchkiss scored twice and Needham scored all four of its goals in the third period to down Newton 4-2; No. 2’s second goal of the game, with 31 seconds left, gave Agawam a 2-1 decision over Cape Ann; Jack Costanzo had 2-1-3 and Mark Madeja pitched a shutout in Cape Ann’s 4-0 triumph over Beverly; Cicerone wore the hat and had two assists, McKinley posted 2-1-3, Johnson had 1-2-3 and Donovan and Fiore came within 35 seconds of a combined shutout in Somerville’s 9-1 victory over Winchester; Rohan Gervais scored the winner in the second period and Jack O’Brien assisted on both goals as Brookline edged Waltham 2-1; and Mailhot wore the hat and B. Defeo and J. Defeo both clicked for 1-1-2 in Wakefield’s 8-0 win over Woburn.


In the South, Chamoun pitched a shutout and Walsh scored the winner 1:35 into the third period as Hyde Park edged Melrose 1-0; O’Neil scored twice and Mont posted 1-1-2 in Waltham’s 4-1 win over Newton; Aidan McKinney scored the winner with 4:36 left and Max Bauer had 1-1-2 as Framingham nipped Natick 3-2; Ryan Zani had 2—1-3 and Jack MacKinnon 1-1-2 as the Leafs topped the Railers 7-2; and Ben LaPlante and Kyle Hankey both scored twice, David Romm had 1-1-2 and Colin Hogan the shutout as SMS defeated Newburyport 6-0.


Dedham had a win and a tie in the East. Derby scored two goals and dished out three assists and Kearney had two goals and a helper in a 6-2 victory over Groton – and Robert Squires scored with 1:25 left to give Reading a 3-3 tie with Dedham, Ben Mini with 1-1-2 for Reading and Greenwood 1-1-2 for Dedham;


Cole Moore and Collin Doak scored 44 seconds apart early in the third period and Groton scored all four of its goals in a 6:25 span for a 4-1 victory over Needham; Gavin Cassidy wore the hat in Concord-Carlisle’s 6-0 win over the Railers; Tim Carter and Will Beaton both posted 1-1-2 and Nate Ewell had two assists as Triton downed Wilmington 4-1; Tom Sullivan and Austin Annunziata both scored twice, Sullivan adding an assist as Everett/Revere defeated Lynn 5-1; and Slivinski posted 2-1-3, Campbell had 1-1-2 and Triboro scored five goals in the third period and topped the Demons 6-4 – Danny Vilani with a hat trick in the loss.


In the West, Anthony Papa wore the hat and had three assists, Dom Hall scored four goals, including a natural hat, Sam Dagenais also had three assists and Joe Osborn and Jeff Gutierrez shared the shutout in Billerica’s big win over the Railers; Ryan Puglia clicked for 1-2-3 and Dean Rooney scored twice  as North FReading trimmed Arlington 4-1; Cloutier wore the hat and had two assists, Flagg had 1-1-2, Reynolds two assists and May pitched a shutout in Twin City’s big win over the Edge; Ty Soule posted 2-1-3 and Matt Lynch two assists as Hollis downed Chelmsford 5-1; and Nick D’Angelo wore the hat and had an assist, Billy Johnson had 2-2-4 and No. 73 posted 1-2-3as the Starhawks defeated Lexington/Bedford 7-0.



In the North, Higgins scored two goals and set up another, Mahoney had a goal and an assist and Ellis pitched a shutout in Dorchester’s 5-0 win over Framingham; Wyman wore the hat and had an assist as Marblehead downed Cape Ann 5-1; Tyler Walsh capped a hat trick with the goal that turn ed out to be the winner with 8:17 left, Kyran Maher had a goal and an assist and Tyler Neal and Max Todisco both had two assists as Andover edged NH East 5-4 – Evan Samiotes with 2-1-3 and Brandon Blood two assists in the loss; Mike Pellegrino capped a three-goal first period with a goal with 1:06 left and Wakefield went on to a 3-2 decision over Haverhill/Pentucket; and Jon Monge scored two goals early and Steve Rizzo also scored twice as Everett/Revere clipped Lynnfield/Saugus 5-2.


In the South, Peter Spylios scored two goals and Nick Triolo had two assists as Twin City trimmed North Central 3-1; Zack Doucette scored the tying goal in the second period as Burlington tied Winthrop 1-1 – John Giorgio with the Winthrop goal early; Ryan McNulty and Ryan Sterout both wore hats, William Conway had 2-1-3, Dom Marshall posted 1-2-3 and Jacob Power had three assists in Nashoba’s big win over Acton-Boxboro; John Pickering clicked for a goal and two assists, Mat Montoya and Jason Sutkatis both also had two assists and Caleb Juaire pitched a shutout in Shrewsbury’s 6-0 victory over the Starhawks; Trip Rosetti and Luke Twomey scored 58 seconds apart late to give Agawam a 3-1 win over Melrose; Fazio pitched a shutout and Doe scored with four seconds left in the first perod of Somerville’s 2-0 victory over Stoneham; and Anthony Grace wore the hat and had an assist, James Dixon posted 2-1-3 and Shawn Book had 1-1-2 as Greater Lowell defeated Andover 7-2 – Williams and Cotton with 1-1-2 apiece in the loss.


In the East, Chase O’Brien wore the hat, Mike Burns had three assists, Rocco Orlandella and Jeff Hallinan both had 1-1-2 and Ryan Avila and Josh Mallon shared the shutout in Beverly’s 8-0 victory over Lynnfield/Saugus; Cam Cannizzaro scored all four goals in Masco’s 4-2 win over Wakefield; Matt Lapriore wore a natural hat in the third period and Xavier Yepez had 2-1-3 in Wakefield’s 5-1 victory over Reading; Jeff Manuel scored four goals and set up two others and Tyler Moh delivered a goal and four assists in Winchester’s 6-3 win over Reading – Tristan Moreau with two goals in the loss; Cam Gagnon wore the hat and Justin Finnegan pitched a shutout as Wilmington topped Winchester 4-0; and Steve Cormier scored with 1:02 left to give Reading a 2-2 tie with S&S.


In the West, Mike Noonan scored the winner as South Boston edged Everett/Revere 2-1; Joe Heussan scored two goals in 40 seconds and Will Gheffel also scored twice as Shrewsbury downed the Leafs 7-2; Jack Kelly scored twice as Triboro edged Concord-Carlisle 4-3; Joe Maycock scored twice as SMS topped the Railers 4-2; and Saia came through with two goals and an assist in Everett/Revere’s 7-0 victory over Medford.
