Bantam - Week Ending Jan. 10


The Maine Academy won twice. Colby Anton and Joe Strabley scored 11 seconds apart in the second period and Brandon Caron had a goal and an assist in a 4-3 decision over Waltham, which got two goals from George Herlihy and two assists from Connor Blanchard – and Tyler Marcoux had two assists and Maine scored three in the first period en route to a 4-1 triumph over Lynnfield/Saugus;

In the other game, Robbie Farrell pitched a shutout and Christian Robarge scored twice to lead Wilmington past the Crusaders 3-0.


Natick won twice in the North. Brett Jewett scored twice and No. 20 had a goal and an assist in a 4-1 victory over Winthrop – and Jake Curley wore the hat and had an assist, Andrew Christlieb had a goal and three assists and Andrew Kittler and Alec Baumann both posted 1-2-3 in an 8-2 win over Casco Bay;

Mike Arsenault (second goal) and John Kenneally scored late to give Tewksbury a 4-3 victory over Arlington, which got a goal and an assist from Jack Tahan; Jackson Wilson led a three-goal rally over a 3:19 span early in the third period with two goals and an assist and Gus Lappin had 1-1-2 as Casco Bay rallied past Concord 3-1; Jack Isabelle pitched a shutout and David Brissette scored with 7:25 left as the Sharks edged Wellesley 1-0; and Noah Mills wore the hat, TJ Vitullo posted 1-2-3, Donald Walk set up three goals and Ruthvik Yenisetti had 1-1-2 as Hollis topped Concord-Carlisle 8-1.

In the South, Mike Kaskiewicz and Kyle Chaput both scored twice and Ryan Immerman had a goal and an assist as SMS downed South Boston 5-0; Pat McEleney clicked for 2-1-3, Steven Jackson dished out three assists and Cam McKenna had 1-1-2 in Reading’s 4-2 win over Andover, which got both goals from Tyler Joe and assists on both from Jayden Amirault; Evan Vadeboncoeur clicked for 2—1-3 and Ryan Caggiano had 1-1-2 in NH east’s 4-2 win over Marblehead; and Dom D’Ambrosio and Ned Malolepszy scored 18 seconds apart in a three-goal second period and D’Ambriosio also had an assist as North Andover trimmed Marblehead 4-2.


Agawam won twice in the North. Keegan O’Shea had a goal and two assists, Brady Hopp had a goal and a helper and Mike Ayers two assists in a 7-1 victory over Burlington – and Cann clicked for 2-1-3 and Mclean had 1-1-2 in a 6-2 triumph over NH East;

Eddie Adams and Brian Corcoran scored 40 seconds apart in the third period and Adams also had an assist as Methuen nipped the Demons 3-1; Gorman’s second goal of a four-goal Stoneham third period and a DiPlacido goal 28 seconds later gave their team a 5-1 victory over Natick; Jack Taylor scored twice and Cam Calocci had what proved to be the winner with 2:53 left in the second period and had an assist as Triboro edged Waltham 4-3 – Lucas Meade with two assists in the loss; and Ben Desmarais scored twice and Jared McEvoy had two assists in Needham’s 4-1 win over Parkway.

Acton-Boxboro won twice in the South. Jack Bartle wore the hat and had two assists, Dan Paxton scored twice, Barrett Genovese posted 1-1-2 and Colin Hattan also had two assists in a 7-2 victory over Beverly – and Craig Jackson pitched a shutout and Pete Jussaume scored early in a 3-0 win over the Edge;

Christian Maney and Harry Carolan scored 52 seconds apart early in the third period and Lynnfield/Saugus edged Haverhill/Pentucket 2-1; Carter went for 2-1-3, Guarino also scored twice and Bryan had two assists in Woburn’s 6-1 victory over Charlestown; Cam Marks clicked for 1-2-3, Cam Gorman and Sam Shippee both had 1-1-2 and Matt Dussault added two assists as Melrose topped Medford 5-2 – Connearney with 1-1-2 in the loss; Jack Gray came through with 2-1-3 and Zach Brea also scored twice in Greater Lowell’s 5-3 win over Lynnfield/Saugus, which got two goals from Tyler Sitnikov and two assists from Nick Aiken; and Reed Kendall scored what turned out to be the winner with 3:10 left and had an assist, PJ Sullivan posted 1-1-2 and Luke Gilgun two assists as Winchester edged Beverly 4-3 – Dan Morency with two goals in the loss.

The Crusaders won twice in the East. Aiden Tomaszewski scored early in the second period en route to a 2-1 decision over Nashoba – and Evan Stone scored twice and Eamon Croucher had two assists in a 5-2 victory over the Sharks, who got both goals from Charron;

Ryan Kennedy and Kevin Sousa both had a goal and an assist and Ben Finney came within 20 seconds of a shutout before Dylan Sawayer scored as Chelmsford downed the Starhawks 6-1; Max Strong scored all four goals and Chance Bichao assisted on two in Nashoba’s 4-1 win over Concord; Jared Albert scored twice and No. 38 had a goal and an assist in Twin City’s 7-2 win over Chelmsford, which got assists on both goals from Jack Hart; Justin Hurst scored twice, Aidan Coulter posted 1-1-2 and Joe Loewen had two assists in  Hyde Park’s 6-2 victory over Dorchester; Nick Marshall had 1-1-2 and Trystan Bourque and Sean Crehan scored 1:17 apart early in the second period as Reading nipped Triton 4-2; and Luke Cole scored the winner with 3:03 left and also had an assist and Aiden Lowry also posted 1-1-2 as Triton edged Wellesley 3-2.

In the West, Gideon Katz wore the hat, Cam Feloney scored twice and Dana Yesson and William Cooper both posted 1-1-2 as Cambridge topped Everett/Revere 8-3; Joe Moran scored with 8:43 left to give NH East a 1-1 tie with Andover, which got a second-period goal from Rigazio; and Ryan Hu scored the winner with 6:37 left as SMS edged Needham, 3-2 – Ryan Fleck with both goals in the loss; Matt Roan clicked for 2-1-3 and Mike McLaughlin had two assists in Waltham’s 6-4 win over Andover.


In the North, Nathan LaPage, Chris Grout and Nick Lennon all posted a goal and an assist and James Guiry dished out two assists in Peabody’s 5-2 win over Woburn; Brian Curry wore the hat and had an assist, Carter Hall had a goal and two helpers and Joe Parinello and Mike Adams both had 1-1-2 as the Outlaws topped Acton-Boxboro 7-1; Will Sullivan wore the hat, scoring the winner with 8:13 left, Owen Morton scored twice and Ethan Furdah had two assists as Wellesley nipped Lynn 5-3—Rao with two goals and Olivieri 1-1-2 in the loss; Casey O’Brien Weiss scored what turned out to be the winner with 7:01 left, Timmy Howard had 1-2-3 and Nick Pascale also had two assists as Triboro edged Twin City 3-2; James Kerravla scored twice and Phil Quinn and No. 64 both had two assists in North Central’s 5-2 win over Acton-Boxboro; Solomon scored with 1:23 left to give North Andover a 2-1 decision over Lexington/Bedford; and Luke Clintock’s second goal of the game, with 2:03 left, gave Agawam a 4-4 tie with Woburn – Keegan O’Shea with 1-2-3 for Agawam and Louden Bolster the go-ahead goal for Woburn with 3:48 left.

In the South, Nick Hall and Curtis Mann shared the shutout and Dylan Sadowski scored early as the Edge nipped Waltham 2-0; Craig Hatfield scored two goals, including the winner with 6:39 left, and Brendan Vacca had two assists as Wakefield edged NH East 3-2; Vachon scored twice in Medfield’s 4-1 victory over the Sharks; Reese Griffiths scored twice as the Demons trimmed Natick 3-1; and Jared Knight scored twice and Jacob Giacalone had two assists in NH East’s 3-1 win over Marblehead.

Masco won twice in the East. Luke Arsenault had a goal and an assist and Jake Jennaris pitched a shutout in a 4-0 victory over Newburyport – and Isaac Gliklich scored with 51 seconds left to give his team a 5-4 decision over Cape Ann, John Rannikko with two goals in 12 seconds and Jared McKenna 1-1-2 in the win and F. Rowen two goals in the loss;

Stu Roach capped a hat trick with the goal that turned out to be the winner with 3:07 left and Dan Verry had two goals and an assist as Danvers edged Andover 5-4 – Zach Ratte and Nolan Schirmer with 1-1-2 apiece in the loss; Matt Gaetano’s second goal of the game, with 1:56 left, gave Andover a 3-3 tie with Melrose – Danny Roughan with two assists for Andover; Ben Hays scored his second goal of the game with 3:38 left to give Nashoba a 3-2 decision over Burlington – Jonathan Ran with two assists in the win; and Luke Shannon scored twice and Ronin D’Auria and Joe Abrama both posted 1-1-2 in Burlington’s 5-2 victory over Newburyport.

In the West, Chris Freeman wore the hat and had two assists, Robert Greene scored twice, Darren Domegan posted 1-1-2 and Pete Torchio pitched a shutout in Medford’s 7-0 victory over Winchester; Tom Roch scored one goal and set up four others, Dave Pekkala posted 2-1-3 and Kevin Silva 1-1-2 in Chelmsford’s 6-1 win over Acton-Boxboro; Felipe Avile and Nick Krajewski both had 1-1-2 and Nathan Lacoste came within 2:10 of a shutout before Sean McLaughlin scored as Newton trimmed Waltham 3-1; Tyler Boudreau and Jack Tenhope shared the shutout and Dylan Zocco posted 1-1-2 as Beverly downed Lexington/Bedford 3-0; Kyle Hammond scored twice as SMS defeated the Crusaders 5-2 – Ryan Baker with both goals in the loss; Angelo Silva scored a goal and then assisted on Josh Barrett’s tally 31 seconds later as North Central downed Groton 3-1; and Cole Bolduc (1-1-2) and Josh Ratnoff (1-1-2) scored 27 seconds apart early in the third period and Dylan Stoia followed with 5:01 remaining to give Greater Lowell a 4-3 decision over Acton-Boxboro.

Reading and Woburn both won twice in the Central. Eric McInerney snapped a 1-1 tie with 37 seconds left in the second period as Reading downed Haverhill/Pentucket 3-1 – and Ben Gaudreault pitched a shutout and McInerney scored early in the second period of a 3-0 victory over Twin City; Pat Doherty scored twice and snapped a 1-1 tie with 49 seconds left in the second period and Chris Tammaro posted 1-1-2 in Woburn’s 5-1 victory over Wellesley – and Devin Marks pitched a shutout and Cam Goneau scored in the first period of a 2-0 win over Triboro;

Owen Matejka scored twice in Wellesley’s 4-1 victory over the Edge; and Wolohan’s second goal of the game, with 4:36 left, was the winner, McManus posted 1-1-2 and Vansesse two assists as the Crusaders got by the Edge 3-2 – Ty Martin with a goal and an assist in the loss.
