The mission of the Arlington Hockey Club (AHC) is to provide kids with an opportunity to play and learn hockey, develop successful hockey players, and through hockey, help develop great citizens who serve their community. After a brief pandemic hiatus, the AHC Skate-a-Thon returned with dozens of AHC members and friends skating 50 laps for donations. AHC is proud to host this annual fund-raising event, which has run for over a decade, to support The Children's Room, an Arlington-based nonprofit organization dedicated to creating safe, supportive communities so that no child, teen, or family has to grieve alone. 
 
Founded in 1993 by a small, passionate group of caregivers, The Children's Room has grown to become the leading independent nonprofit bereavement organization in Massachusetts, offering grief support, training, and education for families with children (aged 3 to 18) who have experienced the death of a parent or sibling. 
 
AHC's Skate-a-Thon is one of the club's most enduring efforts to instill a strong sense of community within our teams by participating in events to benefit local organizations. With the support of our players, parents, and coaches, the Arlington Hockey Club has raised over $100,000 in support of The Children's Room.
